How to archive memberships

Before we dive into archiving memberships, it's important to note that if your goal is to temporarily hide a membership, you don't need to archive it. Instead, you can simply turn off its visibility for customers and on the point of sale (POS). This way, the membership won't appear on your website, app, or POS, but it will still be available in the CRM. Use this option when you only want to hide a membership for a short time.
Open the membership.
Turn off the "Visible to Customer" and "Visible on POS" options.
Archiving is necessary when a membership is no longer relevant. This could be due to it being an old plan, a discontinued offer, or something you don't plan to sell again. Archiving removes it from everywhere and ensures it can't be sold or purchased by new customers while still keeping it in your records for reporting purposes. Remember, memberships cannot be permanently deleted since deleting would affect reporting.
Open the membership you wish to archive.
Click on the "Archive" option.
If any customers currently have the membership active, you'll see an error. In this case, you need to either wait for the membership to expire or cancel all active memberships first.
Head over to each customer profile.
Open a customer profile, click on the three dots against the membership, select "Cancel," and confirm.
Once all active memberships are cancelled, you can proceed to archive the membership.
Return to the membership.
Click on "Archive Membership."
Once archived, the membership will appear under the "Archived Memberships" tab. If you ever want to make it active again, you can unarchive it from this tab.
