Membership Management: Upgrades and Downgrades

Membership management isn't just about selling plans; it's also about handling upgrades and downgrades smoothly. This process can involve upgrading a customer from an intro pack to a recurring subscription or moving them to a plan that better fits their needs.

Why Does This Matter?

  • Increased Revenue: Flexible upgrade options encourage customers to move into higher-tier memberships. More credits equal more bookings, and higher-tier plans often include additional credits, which drive greater usage.

  • Improved Retention: Personalizing upgrades and downgrades builds loyalty and reduces churn.

How to Upgrade or Downgrade a Customer's Membership

  1. Access the Customer's Profile: To get started, head over to the customer's profile.

  2. Initiate Membership Change: Click on the three dots next to the membership you want to change and select "Change Membership."

  3. Select Upgrade or Downgrade: You will see two options:

    • Upgrade Membership: Choose this to change the membership to a higher-tier plan.

    • Downgrade Membership: Choose this to change the membership to a lower-tier plan.

  4. Choose the New Plan: Select the plan you want to upgrade or downgrade to.

  5. Set the Effective Date: Decide when you want the change to take effect.

    • Option 1: The change will take effect once the current pack expires. Select this if you want the customer to have access to their current credits before changing their membership.

    • Option 2: The current credit pack will end immediately, and the new membership will start right away. Choose this option if the customer does not have any credits left or if they've requested an immediate change.

  6. Confirm the Change: Once you're happy with the settings, click on "Change Membership."

Important Notes

  • Cancelling the original credit pack automatically cancels any linked upgrade or downgrade requests.

  • If a credit pack is paused, you won't be able to upgrade or downgrade the membership until it's active again.

  • If there's already an upgrade or downgrade scheduled and you pause the original credit pack, the scheduled change will be canceled automatically.
