How to Utilize a POS System for Customer Transactions

In this video, we will talk about the POS and how you can make purchases. Follow the steps below to effectively use the POS system.

Accessing the POS System

You can access the POS from the main menu or use the hotkey Command + K (Mac) or Control + K (Windows).

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Selecting a Customer

First, you need to select a customer. For example, let's select John.

2. Purchasing a Subscription or Membership

• Select the subscription or membership you want to purchase.

• Choose the start date for the subscription. Note: For subscriptions charged on the first of the month, you cannot select a future start date.

• Apply any discount codes if available. In this case, there are no discount codes applicable for John.

• Click on Charge to proceed with the payment.

• If John already has a card saved, you can use it or add another card manually.

• Complete the payment process. The payment will be successful, and you will see a success screen.

• Note: The payment amount is zero dollars because the membership starts on a future date. John will be charged on the selected start date.

3. Purchasing Packs

• Select the pack you want to purchase, e.g., the Yoga Special Class Pack.

• Add a customer, for example, Boris.

• Choose the start date and apply any discount codes. In this case, a 10% discount is applied.

• Click on Charge to proceed with the payment.

• You can use a saved card, cash, or redeem a gift card for payment. For this example, the payment is completed via cash.

• If the customer cannot pay the full amount, the remaining balance can be resolved in their profile. Boris paid $80 in cash, leaving a $10 amount due.

4. Selling Gift Cards

• Choose whether it's a physical gift card or an e-gift card.

• If it's a physical gift card, provide the gift card number.

• If sending it to someone, you can do so from the POS system.

5. Selling Products

Products can be sold easily through the POS. Add the product to the cart and proceed to charge the customer.

6. Custom Charges

You can also add custom charges for tips or any other custom amounts. Simply give it a label and proceed with the charge.
