Before defining compensation for your staff, the first and most important step is to set up your payroll templates. These templates help you standardize payouts and save time every month. Let's walk through how to set this up.
Navigate to Setup > Payroll > Payroll Settings.
Configure your payroll settings. This is a one-time setup where you define how often you run payroll.
Choose the frequency that matches how your studio processes payroll:
Every Week
Every Other Week
Twice Per Month
Monthly
For example, select Monthly.
Click Save Settings. Kenko will now use this schedule every time you run payroll.
Go to Payroll Templates and click Create Template.
Update the template name. Give it a clear name for easy identification, for example, Basic Salary.
Add a description for internal reference to help your team understand when and how this template should be used.
Select the Payroll Type. Choose the type of compensation you want to set up. For this guide, select Fixed Salary.
Enter the salary amount and specify whether it's paid per week or per month.
When everything looks good, click Create Template.
That's it! You've successfully created your fixed salary payroll template. You can now use this template when assigning compensation to your staff, making your payroll process faster, organized, and fully automated.
