How to define usage limits for discounts

When creating discounts, you have the option to set usage limits to control how many times a discount can be redeemed. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to set these limits effectively:
Scroll down to the Usage Limits section. Here, you'll find two options that you can use individually or together, depending on your promotional goals.
Enable this option if the discount should be available only a fixed number of times overall.
Example: For a flash sale with a "first 10 customers only" offer, set the limit to 10 uses total. This can apply whether those 10 redemptions come from 10 different customers or the same customer multiple times.
This option is ideal for exclusive promotions where you want to create urgency or control the number of discounted purchases.
Enable this option to restrict how often each individual customer can use the discount.
Example: For a "first class only, 50% off" promo, set the limit to one use per customer to ensure it's a one-time offer.
This helps prevent customers from reusing a promo intended for a single use.
You can also apply both limits at the same time. For instance, set a total usage limit of 10 and a per customer usage limit of 1. This means the discount can be used 10 times in total, and each customer can only use it once.
Once you're satisfied with your usage settings, click Create Discount or Update Discount if you're editing an existing one. And that's it! You've successfully set up usage limits to control who can use your discounts and how often.
