Once you've created all your payroll templates and updated compensation for your staff, you're ready to run payroll. Let's walk through how this works on Kenko.
Go to Setup, then Payroll, and click Run Payroll.
A regular payroll period will be automatically generated based on the payroll frequency you selected earlier (weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly).
For ad hoc payroll schedules, you have the option to create a pay period. Choose your start and end dates, click Create Payrun.
Kenko will generate your custom payroll in a couple of minutes. Refresh the page shortly after to proceed.
Click on Run Payroll.
Kenko automatically calculates compensation for each staff member based on the payroll templates and sessions conducted during the pay period.
Click the info icon next to any staff member for a detailed breakdown of sessions, payments, and total gross and net pay.
Review and confirm that everything looks correct.
Bonus: Add a bonus for exceptional performance, additional shifts, or hitting sales targets. Enter the amount and click Add Bonus.
Tips: If tips haven't been added via POS, enter the amount and click Add Tip.
Other Earnings: For one-off earnings like extra admin work or advance payment for a course. Add the amount, description, and click Add Other Earning.
Deductions: Use for necessary adjustments, equipment damage fees, etc.
Reimbursements: For business-related expenses paid out of pocket by staff. Enter the amount, description, and click Add Reimbursement.
Review the final numbers for each staff member.
Choose from the following options:
Export Payroll: Download as an Excel file for sharing with your accountant or finance team.
Delete Payrun: If compensation setup was incorrect or needs to be redone. A confirmation pop-up will appear.
Confirm your approval. Remember, after approval, changes cannot be made, so ensure everything is thoroughly reviewed.
Once you've paid your staff outside the system, record the payment by clicking Record Payment, add the payment date, and click Record Payment again.
And that's it! You're now ready for accurate, automated payroll every cycle.
